Ahead of the Persib Bandung vs Persijap match, Marc Klok: We are going there to win.

Persib Bandung are carrying a mission to claim all three points when they travel away to face Persijap Jepara on matchweek three of the 2026/27 BRI Super League.

This fixture, which will be held at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium in Jepara on Sunday 20 September 2026 at 19:00 WIB, marks the third consecutive away match for Maung Bandung.

Prior to this trip, Persib already completed an away fixture against Persija Jakarta before travelling onwards to South Korea to face FC Seoul.

Persib captain Marc Klok has confirmed his side are not travelling to Jepara just to settle for a draw. The naturalised midfielder stated clearly that Persib's primary target is to return home with a victory.

"We don't know what conditions will be like over there. But no matter what we face, we will push for the best possible result, and we are going there to win," Klok was quoted as saying on Persib's official website on Sunday.

Marc Klok Warns Persib Not To Underestimate Persijap

Klok is aware this clash against Persijap will not be straightforward. Alongside having to perform in front of opposing home supporters, Persib also hold unpleasant past memories against Laskar Kalinyamat from the previous season.

Across their two meetings last campaign, Persib failed to secure a victory over Persijap. Both on home ground and when travelling to Jepara, Maung Bandung could not get the better of the side.

This record makes Persijap the only team that Persib were unable to defeat throughout the entirety of last season.

This statistic has not escaped Klok's attention. He has also urged his teammates not to grow complacent over Persijap's slow start to the 2026/27 campaign.

It is true Persijap opened the league with underwhelming results, having suffered defeats in their first two matches. Even so, this does not lead Klok to believe this will be an easy fixture.

"Look, we know Persijap are not a poor side. They are a very good team, they play an excellent style of football, and they have a coach with clear, strong ideas. We know this will not be an easy game for us," he added.

Persib Using Last Season's Results As Evaluation

Klok has also asked the entire Persib squad to learn from the experiences of last season's meetings between the two sides.

He explained the team has already identified areas that require improvement following their encounters with Persijap last year. This evaluation is expected to help Persib deliver a more effective performance for this upcoming match.

Klok stressed Persib must correct the mistakes that previously prevented them from claiming wins against Laskar Kalinyamat.

"We have to fix what went wrong last season. We know where we fell short back then, we have reviewed that, and we need to correct those issues in this match. Hopefully this season we can finally beat Persijap," he stated firmly.

This fixture between Persijap Jepara and Persib Bandung presents Maung Bandung with an opportunity to fix their head-to-head record, while also maintaining positive momentum at the start of the 2026/27 BRI Super League.
