Chelsea travelled to Brentford's home ground with an opportunity to remain in contention at the top end of the English Premier League. However, the fixture at London's Gtech Community Stadium, kicking off early Saturday morning WIB, turned into a disastrous night for The Blues as they were beaten by three unanswered goals.
Brentford sealed a 3-0 victory with strikes from Jaidon Anthony, Igor Thiago and Fabio Carvalho. This result catapulted The Bees up to 3rd place in the provisional league standings, taking their tally to nine points from five matches.
Chelsea suffered the reverse fate. Following this defeat, The Blues dropped down to 7th position with seven points from five games, sitting just one point outside the top four places.

Chelsea started the match on the front foot with aggressive pressing. Pedro Neto created an opening to put the away side ahead, but his effort was safely gathered by Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
After that early chance, both sides struggled to manufacture clear cut threats, with no goals registered as the first half ended deadlocked at 0-0.
The dynamic shifted completely after the half time interval. Brentford began finding gaps in Chelsea's defensive structure, first going close when Jaidon Anthony's header bounced back off the goal frame.
Anthony made no mistake just minutes later. In the 61st minute, the Brentford forward converted Jannik Schuster's delivery to break the deadlock and put the home side 1-0 up.
This goal completely altered the match's flow. Forced to chase the deficit, Chelsea's forward pushes only left exposed space for Brentford to launch dangerous counter attacks.
The Bees doubled their advantage in the 83rd minute. Igor Thiago was perfectly positioned to convert a loose rebound inside Chelsea's penalty area, extending the lead to 2-0.
Chelsea entered the closing stages facing an uphill task. Rather than pulling a goal back, they conceded once more as the match entered stoppage time.
In the 94th minute, Fabio Carvalho finished off Kevin Schade's cutback to wrap up Brentford's third goal. The 3-0 scoreline stood until the full time whistle.
This victory provides a huge early season boost for Brentford. Sitting third on nine points, they are now only three points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.
For Chelsea, this represents a major setback on matchweek 5. With just seven points from five fixtures, they must quickly rebuild momentum if they are to secure a UEFA Champions League qualification spot.
