Veda Ega Sets Sights on 2026 Mandalika Moto3, with two official race rounds scheduled as warm-up events ahead of his home grand prix.

The Pertamina Mandalika Circuit will carry a very distinct appeal when the 2026 Mandalika Moto3 is held this coming October. For the very first time, Indonesian spectators will watch Veda Ega Pratama compete as an official Moto3 rider in front of his home crowd.

Veda Ega's Mandalika debut stands as one of the most anticipated moments across the entire Indonesian MotoGP event series. After proving his competitive ability throughout his debut Moto3 season, Veda has earned the chance to race on a circuit he already knows well.

Veda Ega has posted a notably strong record in his debut Moto3 campaign. He has already accumulated 97 championship points, making him the first Indonesian rider ever to reach this points total across any Grand Prix championship class.

This achievement gives far greater context to Veda Ega's upcoming Mandalika appearance. He will not take to the track merely as a home nation rider, but as one of Indonesia's rapidly developing Grand Prix competitors with proven international racing experience.

His presence will act as a major draw for attendees. Even amid the massive global focus on the premier MotoGP class, Veda Ega's Moto3 performances will give local fans an additional, deeply personal reason to anticipate the Mandalika race weekend.

Furthermore, Mandalika is far from an unfamiliar track for Veda Ega. Long before joining the Grand Prix paddock, he had already competed multiple times at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, and even secured notable victories there.

In 2023, Veda Ega won both the first and second rounds of the Asia Talent Cup Indonesian Grand Prix hosted at Mandalika.

One year later, he once again demonstrated his pace by taking a third place finish, alongside claiming the SSP600 class runner-up title at the Asia Road Racing Championship event held on the same circuit.

This on-track experience will serve as critical preparation ahead of his Mandalika Moto3 debut. Veda Ega already understands the circuit's unique characteristics, including how to navigate the challenges of this 4.3 kilometre layout.

That said, there remains a long lead-up before the Mandalika round. Before racing on home soil, Veda Ega must first contest two additional Grand Prix rounds.

The Austrian Moto3 round will take place 18-20 September, followed by the Japanese Moto3 round on 2-4 October. Once these two races are completed, Veda Ega will shift his full focus to his home round at Mandalika.

Preparations for Mandalika come at a point where Veda Ega is currently facing competitive challenges. He has failed to score championship points in two consecutive rounds, an uncharacteristic dry spell for him this season.

This is the first time Veda Ega has encountered this kind of form slump all season. For that reason, the upcoming Austria and Japan rounds present a valuable opportunity to rediscover his race rhythm before arriving in Indonesia.

When the time comes, Mandalika will not simply be the venue for Veda Ega's first ever home Moto3 race. This track has been part of his entire racing journey, from his early Asia Talent Cup days right through to reaching the Grand Prix world stage.
