Maybank Marathon 2026 has once again received appreciation from public figures who participated in this international running event. Actress Ririn Ekawati and musician Sheryl Sheinafia stated that the quality of the race organisation in Bali continues to improve year on year.
Both observed that multiple aspects of Maybank Marathon 2026 have received greater attention, ranging from participant comfort, on-course safety, right through to the implementation of sustainability principles within the event operations.
"Maybank Marathon keeps upgrading every single year, it gets better and there are so many positive elements from this event, including its sustainability initiatives," stated Ririn after completing Maybank Marathon 2026 at the Bali United Training Center (BUTC), Gianyar Regency, Bali on Sunday, 23 August 2026.

For Ririn, this quality improvement is not only visible during the race itself, but also across all supporting facilities prepared to enhance participant experience. She noted that safety and comfort are two factors that have been given increasingly serious attention.
This year marks Ririn's second time participating in Maybank Marathon. After first joining in 2025, she once again competed in the Half Marathon category.
Ririn stated that she enjoyed the unique course characteristics of Maybank Marathon. According to her, the presence of several incline sections actually made the race feel more challenging and engaging at the same time.
She also felt she performed better in the 2026 edition compared to the previous year. She mentioned that support from her husband Ibnu Jamil helped her maintain her morale and pacing all the way until she finished the race.
Aside from the course profile, Ririn also paid attention to the supporting facilities available along the entire route. She noted that properly positioned water stations and on-course medical services gave participants a strong sense of security while running.
Overall, she assessed that the execution of Maybank Marathon ran very well, and she found no major aspects that require significant changes.
Sheryl Sheinafia Completes Her Third Consecutive Appearance
Similar appreciation was expressed by Sheryl Sheinafia. The musician returned for Maybank Marathon 2026, marking her third consecutive participation in the event.
Sheryl first joined the event in 2024 running the Half Marathon. The following year she tried the 10K category, before returning to compete in the Half Marathon for this year's edition.
According to Sheryl, improvements to event quality can be felt even before the race begins. This is noticeable right from the race pack collection (RPC) process through to race day execution.
She also highlighted participant flow management inside the race village area, noting that the organised layout made moving around far more comfortable for all attendees.
She also praised the fully closed, vehicle-free race course. This condition allowed runners to move freely without unnecessary disruption along the route.
Sheryl also enjoyed the course profile of Maybank Marathon 2026. She stated that the combination of long downhill sections and climbs gave this year's route a distinct, satisfying running experience.
Regarding safety and comfort, Sheryl observed consistent effort from the organisers to conduct evaluations and implement quality improvements every year.
The musician expressed hope that this positive progress will be maintained. She also encouraged comprehensive ongoing improvements so that Maybank Marathon can continue to set the benchmark for running event organisation standards across Indonesia.
The fact that Maybank Marathon holds World Athletics Elite Label status is also a key reason that consistent high quality organisation must be maintained.
14,100 Runners Competed At Maybank Marathon 2026
Maybank Marathon 2026 marked the 15th edition of this international running event. This year's race was held under the theme "Pace You Forward".
A total of 14,100 participants from 46 countries took part in Maybank Marathon 2026. This international participation once again confirms the event's standing as one of the most prominent international running events hosted in Indonesia.
Alongside the competitive race and runner experience, sustainability was also a core focus for this year's edition.
This commitment was realised through the Maybank Marathon Sustainability Day 2026 programme, formed as part of the organiser's efforts to embed sustainability principles within sports event execution.
By combining competitive racing, quality participant experience, international standards, and sustainability initiatives, Maybank Marathon 2026 is not only an event for achieving personal best times, but also a platform that drives the development of running as a sport across Indonesia.
