Bogor - What would it look like, if a single glass of iced passion fruit became the entire reason to hike a hill standing 846 meters above sea level?

That is exactly the experience of ITSMe reporter Syafira, when she trekked Bukit Paniisan in early August 2026.

This was not just a regular trip to reach a summit. Syafira had one very specific, unusual goal: to taste the iced passion fruit drink sold right at the peak of Bukit Paniisan.

To get that drink, she had to trek for approximately two hours starting from Bojong Koneng Village, the official starting point for the hike.

This trip is part of the ITSMe Travel Series, for the episode titled "Hiking Bukit Paniisan, All For One Glass of Iced Passion Fruit".

Trekking Bukit Paniisan: 846 MASL

Bukit Paniisan is one of the popular trekking destinations in Sentul, Bogor Regency, located near Mount Pancar. Its summit sits at 846 meters above sea level.

This hill offers open natural scenery with rolling hill panoramas, stretches of lush green forest, crisp mountain air, plus several rest stops where visitors can pause and take in the elevated views.

For those looking to hike, the route to Paniisan mixes sloped climbing paths with designated rest points. This destination is suitable for beginner hikers, though physical conditioning is still recommended as there are fairly exhausting steep sections along the trail.

But Syafira's trip this time had a different story.

She did not come just for the hike.

There was a glass of iced passion fruit waiting for her at the top.

Two Hours To The Summit

The journey began at Bojong Koneng Village.

Before stepping onto the trail, Syafira did proper warm up exercises. One step after another, she then began making her way up towards the peak of Bukit Paniisan.

At a steady, normal trekking pace, this ITSMe expedition took approximately two hours to reach the summit.

ITSMe camera crews documented the entire journey naturally.

They did not only capture the surrounding scenery, but every small moment Syafira experienced along the whole trail.

At first, the hike felt easy and light.

But as they climbed higher, the steep inclines began to drain energy.

Syafira stopped multiple times to catch her breath, drink water, and rest before continuing the climb again.

The dense forest trees and natural Sentul landscape accompanied every step of the trip. There were also little everyday sights encountered along the trail, including footage of local farmers drying coffee beans beside the path.

The climb up itself became its own meaningful experience.

Because when you go trekking, it is never only about reaching the top.

Every single step taken on the way there is part of the story.

When The Slopes Start Testing You

Yes, Bukit Paniisan only stands at 846 meters above sea level.

But that number does not mean the journey to its peak comes without challenges.

For beginner hikers, or anyone not used to walking uphill, this trail still demands good stamina. The inclines get significantly more tiring the closer you get to the summit.

Syafira felt this first hand, as the climb slowly wore out her energy.

Stop.

Drink.

Catch your breath.

Then keep walking.

Over and over again.

But there was one thing keeping her going, one motivation to push forward.

The iced passion fruit.

Arriving At The Peak Of Bukit Paniisan

After roughly two hours of trekking, Syafira finally arrived at the summit area of Bukit Paniisan.

That 846 MASL mark that had been the target from the very start was finally reached.

Exhaustion slowly faded into quiet relief.

From the summit, visitors can take in panoramic views of the rolling hills, endless green forest canopy and the whole natural Sentul landscape. There are also seating areas at the top, where people can rest while breathing the fresh mountain air and admiring the view.

ITSMe drone crews then captured aerial footage of the area.

Looking down from above, it became clear every tiring step taken on the climb was completely worth what awaited at the top.

Syafira took her time enjoying this quiet moment.

But one mission was still not completed.

That glass of iced passion fruit.

The Rp 10,000 Iced Passion Fruit At The Summit

There is a small stall selling food and drinks right at the Bukit Paniisan summit area.

And that was where Syafira finally found the drink that had been the entire reason for this trip.

The iced passion fruit.

At the time of ITSMe's coverage in early August 2026, this drink was priced at IDR 10,000 per glass.

After climbing uphill for two full hours, that single cold drink tasted more refreshing than anything could.

Syafira's curiosity was finally satisfied.

The iced passion fruit really was delicious, just as people said.

But it was only once she reached this point, that she realized this trip had given her a far more memorable story.

It Was Never Actually About The Passion Fruit Drink

Syafira set off on this hike all for a glass of iced passion fruit.

But by the end of the journey, it was not the taste of the drink that stuck with her.

She remembered the steep slopes.

She remembered the tired ache in her legs.

She remembered every time she had to stop and rest.

She remembered the crisp mountain air.

She remembered the endless green trees.

She remembered the view from high up at the summit.

And she remembered that quiet rush of relief the second she finally stood at that 846 meter peak.

All of those little experiences are what made that one glass of iced passion fruit feel so special.

"And it's true... this passion fruit drink really is delicious. But to be honest? The thing I will remember for the longest time isn't how it tastes. It's every step I took just to get here."

Maybe that is the whole point of this trip.

A journey does not always need to start with some grand, noble reason.

Sometimes, just a single 10 thousand rupiah glass of iced fruit drink is enough to make someone walk two hours straight up a hill.

And when you finally arrive at the end? You do not just go home with the taste of a drink.

You go home with a story.
