Super League Results: Borneo defeats Bali United, Dewa United stays firmly at the top of the standings.

Borneo FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bali United in the 2026/2027 Liga 1 fixture held at Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, East Kalimantan on Sunday afternoon.

This result marks Borneo FC's first home win of the season. Prior to this match, the Pesut Etam had suffered two consecutive home defeats: 0-1 against Persija Jakarta and 1-3 to Dewa United.

The only goal of the match came from the penalty spot. Juan Villa stepped up as the designated taker and put Borneo FC ahead in the 54th minute.

The match ran at high tempo right from kickoff. Both Borneo FC and Bali United played aggressively, building attacking moves down all flanks. However, tight organised defending from both sides meant none of the created chances could be converted into goals early on.

Borneo FC was forced into an early substitution not long after the match started. Komang Teguh picked up an injury and was replaced by Rifad Marasabessy.

Tempers began to flare entering the 33rd minute. Brandon Wilson received a yellow card for a heavy challenge that halted a dangerous Borneo FC counter attack.

Tensions escalated further just one minute later. An altercation broke out between players on the pitch, prompting referee Naufal Adya Fairuski to issue two straight red cards at once.

Rifad Marasabessy of Borneo FC and Bali United's Rahmat Arjuna were both dismissed from the pitch.

Both sides continued the match with 10 players each. This situation forced both head coaches to adjust their game plans. No goals were scored for the remainder of the first half, leaving the score locked at 0-0 at the break.

Borneo FC immediately upped the pressure after half time. Moussa Diarra was brought on to provide extra attacking threat.

The long-awaited home goal finally arrived in the 52nd minute. A defensive error from a Bali United player while dealing with an attack resulted in a foul inside the penalty box.

The referee reviewed the incident via Video Assistant Referee (VAR) before pointing to the penalty spot.

Juan Villa was trusted to take the kick. The Borneo FC midfielder successfully converted the penalty in the 54th minute, putting his side 1-0 up.

Bali United responded by introducing Jay Herdman and Irfan Jaya in an attempt to turn the match around, but conditions only became more difficult for the visiting side.

In the 69th minute, Tim Receveur was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge. This marked the third red card issued during the fixture.

Bali United were left to play out the rest of the match with only 9 players. Borneo FC used their numerical advantage to solidify their defensive line.

Diego Michiels was brought on to add defensive experience and protect Borneo FC's lead as the match entered its closing stages.

Bali United still attempted to create chances after introducing Jens Raven, but none of their efforts produced an equalising goal.

The 1-0 scoreline remained until the referee blew the final whistle. Borneo FC finally collected all three points on home ground.

This victory lifts Borneo FC to 4th position in the provisional league table with 6 points. Bali United sit just below them in 5th place, also on 6 points but with an inferior goal difference.

In another week 4 fixture, Dewa United claimed top spot in the provisional standings after beating PSS Sleman 2-1 at Banten International Stadium on Sunday.

Dewa United opened the scoring through Taisei Marukawa in the 49th minute. Nine minutes later, Carlos Iury extended their lead to 2-0.

PSS Sleman pulled one back when Christophe Nduwarugira found the net in the 72nd minute, making the score 2-1.

After that goal, PSS pushed hard for an equaliser, but Dewa United successfully held onto their lead until full time.

This result means Dewa United have accumulated 10 points from four matches, taking first place in the provisional 2026/27 Super League table.

Meanwhile, PSS Sleman remain in 16th position. The Super Elang Jawa are still yet to register a single point after four matches played.

Right from kickoff, Dewa United dominated possession and applied consistent pressure. PSS Sleman sat deep defensively for most of the match, only launching occasional counter attacks.

Despite the home side creating multiple chances, no goals were scored during the first half.

Dewa United finally broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half courtesy of Taisei Marukawa.

Their lead was doubled in the 58th minute. Carlos Iury converted a chance to make the score 2-0 in favour of Dewa United.

PSS Sleman refused to give up. Nduwarugira's 72nd minute goal gave the visiting side hope of salvaging a point from the match.

However, Dewa United successfully defended their 2-1 lead until the final whistle, securing all three points at home.
