Persija Jakarta secured a dramatic victory over Persib Bandung on the second matchday of the 2026/2027 Super League, held at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Senayan on Saturday 12 September. Ivan Mamut's 90+4th minute header confirmed the Macan Kemayoran defeated Maung Bandung with a final score of 2-1.
The match ran at high tempo right from the first minute. Persija played more aggressively and applied pressure through their attacking line, while Persib relied more on counter-attacks to find gaps in the home team's defence.
In the 7th minute, Alexander Jeremejeff sent a cross towards Arlyansyah Abdulmanan, but the finishing attempt sailed over the bar.

Persib responded three minutes later. However, Berguinho's through ball could not be controlled perfectly by Balsa Sekulic.
Persib continued their pressure in the 19th minute. Mariano Peralta's cross was cleared by Persija goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata.
Persija launched another threatening attack through Rayhan Hannan in the 33rd minute, but his shot from inside the penalty box still flew high above Persib's goal crossbar.
Persija finally broke the deadlock four minutes before half-time. The goal started with Denis Kolinger's penetrating run into Persib's defensive area. Kolinger's pass was then finished off by Jeremejeff, who beat Teja Paku Alam from close range.
Persija led 1-0 at the 41st minute, a score that remained until the first half ended.
Entering the second half, Persija did not ease their pressure. Radovan Pankov's header in the 53rd minute and Viktor Dethan's flicked shot in the 58th minute both failed to change the scoreline.
Persib gradually found their rhythm and started pressing more boldly via counter-attacks. In the 70th minute, Luka Menalo's header from Adam Alis' cross was parried away by Nadeo.
Menalo got another chance five minutes later. This time Nadeo could not hold his shot, but the ball bounced off Persija's goal post.
Persib finally scored an equaliser in the 81st minute. Balsa Sekulic's shot from inside the penalty box changed the position to 1-1.
Just as the match looked set to end in a draw, Ivan Mamut emerged as the decider for the home side's victory.
Persija's new striker met the ball with a header to beat Teja Paku Alam at the 90+4th minute.
This goal put Persija back ahead 2-1, a lead they maintained until the final whistle blew. With this additional three points, Persija has collected six points from two matches.
