Persija Brings in Ivan Mamut as Additional Firepower for the Attacking Line Ahead of the Match Against Persib.

Persija Jakarta have secured additional attacking firepower ahead of their heated fixture against Persib Bandung for the second matchweek of the 2026/2027 BRI Super League. The Kemayoran Tigers have officially announced the arrival of Croatian striker Ivan Mamut, signed on a two-season contract.

Ivan joins the club with competitive experience across multiple European and Asian football leagues. The 29 year old forward has already shown enormous enthusiasm to begin this new career chapter with Persija.

"I have heard nothing but good things about Persija. I also spoke extensively with Marko Simic. He helped me greatly, and I am here today because of him," stated Ivan.

Ivan's arrival provides Persija with extra squad options going into the new season. This comes at a critical period, as the capital club faces a sequence of high-stakes matches right from the start of the campaign, most notably this meeting with their biggest rivals Persib.

Ivan is confident Persija will enjoy a strong season this year. He has committed to helping the squad achieve their targets, while acknowledging that competition in the Super League will not be an easy challenge.

This campaign will pit Persija against a number of well-established strong sides. For this reason, Ivan's proven experience is expected to support the Kemayoran Tigers throughout the full duration of the season, not just for one single match.

Amidst his excitement over joining Persija, Ivan also delivered a message to The Jakmania supporters. He called on fans to continue standing behind the team during every fixture.

"I will play with full passion on the pitch, and I will give more than 100 percent in every single match," Ivan confirmed firmly.

Persija Jakarta manager Ardhi Tjahjoko welcomed the signing positively. He stated Ivan's arrival will add depth to the front line while also bringing greater overall contribution to the entire Kemayoran Tigers squad.

"We are optimistic that Ivan can help Persija compete in this season's Super League. We hope he will be able to quickly adapt both with his new teammates and with the culture of Indonesian football," Ardhi expressed.

Prior to joining Persija, Ivan spent the majority of his early professional career in the Croatian top flight with Inter Zapresic between 2016 and 2021, and also completed a loan spell at NK Sesvete during this period.

His career then took him to Romania, where he represented CS U Craiova and FCSB. Following this, Ivan took on his first challenge in Asian football, playing for Terengganu FC from 2023 until 2025.

After two seasons competing in Malaysia, Ivan returned to Croatia to play for NK Varazdin before accepting the offer from Persija. This accumulated experience will form his foundation as he begins this new career chapter in Indonesia.

Notably, Ivan will make his Persija debut under high pressure circumstances. The Kemayoran Tigers will host Persib at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta on Saturday 12 September, with kickoff scheduled for 15.30 WIB.

Persija head into this fixture with positive momentum, having recorded a 1-0 victory over Borneo FC on the opening matchweek. With Ivan now added to the roster, Persija have extra attacking options available as they face Persib, the side that has won three consecutive league titles.
