Indonesian-descent striker Dean Zandbergen opens his goal account at Dinamo Bucuresti.

Indonesian-descendant striker Dean Zandbergen immediately demonstrated his productivity for Dinamo Bucuresti after scoring his maiden goal in Romania's top tier football league.

This goal was scored during Dinamo Bucuresti's fixture against FC Csikszereda for the ninth matchweek of the 2026/2027 Romanian Superliga, on Saturday 12 September 2026.

Dean Zandbergen was trusted to play the full duration of this match. Unfortunately, Dinamo had to concede defeat to FC Csikszereda with a final score of 1-3.

Even though his team failed to secure a victory, Dean still managed to mark a special personal milestone. The 25-year old player netted Dinamo's only goal in the 37th minute.

This goal also became his first official strike since signing for the Romanian club.

Dean is a new recruit for Dinamo Bucuresti. He was signed at the start of September 2026 from VVV-Venlo, a club competing in the second division of Dutch football.

Before joining Dinamo, Dean built his professional career across multiple Dutch clubs. He previously represented Excelsior Maassluis, Sparta Rotterdam, Jong Sparta, FC Dordrecht, and finally VVV-Venlo.

After scoring his first goal for Dinamo, Dean expressed his ambition to keep registering his name on the scoresheet.

"First goal for Dinamo," he wrote on his personal Instagram account @deanxzandbergen.

"This is just the beginning. I am hungry for much more."

This goal also adds to Dean's appearance record in the Romanian Superliga. Since joining Dinamo, he has received playing opportunities in two matches of Romania's top tier competition for the 2026/2027 season.

In the provisional league standings, Dinamo Bucuresti remains at first position with 20 points collected from nine matches.

Dean Zandbergen was born in Zoetermeer, Netherlands. He has Indonesian bloodline through his grandfather who was originally from Depok, West Java.

Standing at 188 cm, Dean has playing experience across multiple levels of Dutch football competition. However until now, he has never represented the Netherlands national team at either junior or senior level.

Dean's performances with Dinamo Bucuresti have naturally drawn attention, especially due to his status as a player with Indonesian heritage. This debut goal may mark the start of the striker earning greater trust within his new club.
