Cristiano Ronaldo has lost the top position on the list of highest-rated Saudi Pro League players in the EA SPORTS FC 27 game. The Al-Nassr star now ranks second, overtaken by his Portugal national team teammate Ruben Neves, who plays for Al Hilal.

EA SPORTS FC released the official Saudi Pro League player ratings for FC 27. After holding the number one spot uninterrupted for the past three years, Ronaldo has dropped one position. Neves received an 85 overall rating, while Ronaldo was awarded an 84.

This battle for the top ranking carries extra context, as Neves plays for Al Hilal -- the historic traditional rival of Ronaldo's club Al-Nassr in the Saudi top flight.

As a result, the rivalry between these two giant clubs is not only fought on the football pitch, but also reflected within this popular football video game.

Ronaldo Shares Second Place

Ronaldo is not the only player in second position. The 84 rating is also held by Al Hilal's Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Mexican striker Julian Quinones who plays for Al Qadsiah. This means Ronaldo now shares the second place ranking with two other players.

This marks a notable shift in the FC 27 ratings list, especially given Ronaldo remains one of the most popular and influential figures competing in the Saudi Arabian league.

Below the trio of players tied on 84, there are six players all with an identical 83 overall rating.

These players are Francisco Trincao (Portugal), Roger Ibanez (Brazil), Al Ahli striker Ivan Toney (England), Kingsley Coman (France), Inigo Martinez (Spain), and Joao Felix -- Ronaldo's Portuguese teammate at Al-Nassr.

Multiple Global Stars Drop Out Of The Top 10

The FC 27 ratings also show a number of world class players have fallen outside the top 10 ranked players in the Saudi Pro League.

French Al Hilal duo Karim Benzema and Theo Hernandez both received an 82 rating, matching the score given to Al-Nassr's Senegalese star Sadio Mane.

With this distribution, the rating competition for Saudi Pro League players in FC 27 is extremely tight. Just one single point separates Neves, Ronaldo, Milinkovic-Savic and Quinones from the group of players on 83.

For Ronaldo, dropping from the top rating position does not mean his real world importance has declined. He remains one of Al-Nassr's most critical players, and a central figure for the entire Saudi Pro League.

However inside the game, Ruben Neves has taken over the top spot that Ronaldo held for three consecutive years.

Notably, both players represent the Portugal national team at international level.
