Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen ended her run at the 2026 Cincinnati Open after falling to Russian athlete Mirra Andreeva in the Round of 16 match held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, Mason, Ohio.
Janice suffered a straight sets defeat with scores 1-6, 5-7. This result concluded the Indonesian player's tournament campaign, after she previously advanced past the Round of 32 by defeating Swiss tennis player Viktorija Golubic.
Despite failing to secure the match win, Janice put up a fierce resistance, particularly during the second set. The full encounter between both players lasted 1 hour and 42 minutes.

Janice Struggled Through The First Set
Andreeva seized full control of the match right from the opening games. The Russian player built an early 2-0 lead before Janice claimed one game to narrow the gap to 1-2.
Shortly afterwards however, Andreeva reasserted her dominance. Janice could not match her opponent's rhythm and failed to win any additional games for the rest of the opening set.
Andreeva closed the first set with a convincing 6-1 victory.
Janice Mounted A Fightback, Andreeva Secured The Win
Entering the second set, Andreeva once again took the first points. This time however, Janice responded with far stronger play.
Both players traded points in an intense, tight battle. Janice remained within touching distance throughout the set to keep consistent pressure on Andreeva.
The contest remained deadlocked all the way to 6-6, forcing the set to be decided via tiebreak.
Janice briefly held the advantage after building a 4-3 lead. However, Andreeva managed to turn the tide, executing far better play on all critical deciding points.
The Russian player eventually won the tiebreak 7-5, sealing the second set 7-6 to claim the full match victory.
Even though she did not progress to the quarter finals, Janice's achievement of reaching the Round of 16 stands as an important milestone in her competitive career at this WTA 1000 tournament.
