Nova Arianto has officially called up 23 players for the Indonesia U-20 National Team ahead of the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup qualification stage.

Indonesia U-20 National Team has begun preparations ahead of the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers. Head coach Nova Arianto has finalised a 23-player squad that will compete in the qualification round.

From the announced squad list, Nova has called up three players plying their trade overseas: Welber Jardim, Amar Brkic, and Eizar Jacob.

The squad also retains a number of core players who have been key figures in Nova Arianto's previous setups, including Putu Panji, Dafa Al Gazemi, Nazriel Alfaro, Zahaby Gholy and Fabio Azka.

Alongside these names, Garuda Muda will also be bolstered by Arkhan Kaka, Rafi Rasyiq, Reno Salampessy, and Theodore Leeming.

Indonesia U-20 face a tough challenge drawn into Group H. The young Garuda side are grouped alongside Australia, Malaysia and Laos.

All Group H matches will be hosted in Laos, with matches taking place at the Lao National Stadium KM16.

Indonesia U-20 Schedule for 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers
Indonesia will open their campaign with a high-stakes fixture. According to the official AFC schedule, Garuda Muda will face Malaysia on Monday 31 August.

They will then take on hosts Laos on Thursday 3 September, before closing out the group stage against Australia on Sunday 6 September.

Competition in Group H presents Nova Arianto's squad with the chance to secure qualification for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup finals.

Under the qualification format, all 8 group winners from Groups A to H will automatically qualify for the finals tournament. In addition, the 7 best placed runners-up across all groups will also advance.

The 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup finals is scheduled to be held in China, running from 24 March to 10 April 2027.

AFC U-20 Asian Cup As The Pathway To U-20 World Cup
Indonesia U-20's campaign in these qualifiers carries far greater significance than simply reaching the continental championship.

Qualifying for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup will earn Indonesia the chance to compete for a spot at the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is set to be hosted jointly by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
